How Do You Draw In Google Slides
Google Slides has a whole host of different lines, connectors, etc, which you tin edit in lots of means. Here we'll look at:
- Types of line
- Line
- Arrow
- Elbow connector
- Curved connector
- Curve
- Polyline
- Scribble
- Line weight, colour, dash
- Kickoff & End line
Adding lines to a diagram
Hither I accept a unproblematic diagram fabricated with text boxes. I want to add some arrows to show that the Google Apps are all connected with Google Bulldoze in the middle.
Click on the "Line" icon on the toolbar.
Then the crosshairs will announced instead of the cursor. If you hover nearly ane of the text boxes, some dots will announced on the border, similar the one here on the left. These are centre points and are there to help you adhere lines in the right place.
Click on 1 of the dots then drag the line to the other box. Equally you tin see the other box and so highlights the centre points, allowing you to adhere information technology the line in the right place.
I repeat the same for all 5 boxes.
At present I want to change some of the line backdrop. Get-go I select all 5 lines, holding down the shift central and clicking on each of the lines. This allows me to edit all 5 lines at the same time.
On the toolbar, you'll run into the line edit options announced. These are (left to correct) line colour, line weight (thickness), line nuance, line commencement, and line cease.
Irresolute line colour
Let's change the colour of the lines from black to a softer grayness. Click on the "Line colour" icon then cull a colour from the palette.
Changing line weight
Now, let'due south change the line weight. Click on the "Line weight" icon and select a thickness.
Irresolute lines from solid to dashed or dotted ones
Hither we could the lines from solid ones to dashed or dotted ones, by clicking on the "Line nuance" icon and selecting a manner. Here I decided non to practice that.
Changing the style of the ends of the lines
We tin alter the ends of the lines by adding arrows, circles, squares, or diamond shapes.
Each line has a first and an end. The start is from where yous started to draw the line.
To modify the outset end, click on the "Line start" icon and select a shape. In this example, I'm going to leave it as is.
To modify the terminate of the line, go to the "Line end" icon and select a symbol. Hither I'1000 going to select an arrow.
So, at present we have grey, thicker arrows, instead of the obviously lines.
Adding arrows
In the to a higher place case, we converted the normal lines into arrows. This time we're going to add arrows direct to our diagram.
Here I take a simple process and I want to add together arrows in between the blocks to show it's a process.
Click on the "Line" icon on the toolbar and select "Arrow".
As with the lines above, when you hover virtually the text box, the heart points appear.
Click on the showtime point then draw downwards to the next.
Equally you tin see an arrow is drawn, connecting the ii.
Adding an elbow connector
Sometimes, nosotros don't want a straight line to connect elements, instead we want one that will get downwardly, beyond, and then down over again. This is an elbow connector, it's a bit similar some pipes connecting your elements. From the Line carte du jour, select "Elbow connector".
And so depict from the commencement chemical element to the second. As y'all can run across beneath, the 'pipes' are fatigued.
Here I've connected the oral test with all 3 written exam. This can also exist useful for organigrams or family unit trees.
Like the normal lines, yous tin add arrows, etc on the ends in the same way.
Adding a curved connector
The above connector used straight lines, the curved connector, as the name suggests, adds curved lines.
Select the "curved connector" from the Line carte.
Connect the elements in the same mode as higher up.
As you lot can see information technology adds curved lines, which can be useful for things like documenting brainstorming ideas.
Adding a curve shape
And then far, the above has focused more than on connecting elements to each other. The next 3 are drawing tools, which allow you to draw shapes and freehand.
The commencement is a curved shape. Select the Bend from the Line menu.
Click on the slide, and so movement to another signal on the slide and click over again. Each fourth dimension information technology will draw a curve between the two points.
To finish, you demand to click on the original starting point, then that the shape is complete.
This then automatically fills in the shape you've created.
Here I've decided to draw a lake, so I've changed the fill colour to bluish.
Adding a polyline shape
Similar to above, the polyline creates a shape by y'all setting the points on the slide. The difference is this time, the lines are all straight. Select the Polyline from the Lines carte.
Click on the slide and finally on the starting point.
This will then fill in your shape.
Scribbling on a slide
Finally, we have the pick of freehand drawing on the slide. Of course, with a mouse or trackpad, it's not always easy, but at to the lowest degree it allows you to draw whatever yous desire, more or less.
Click on the slide and hold down the mouse button and depict. When you let get of the mouse button, it stops drawing and also makes that drawing a selection, which you lot tin can so movement and edit similar a line.
Hither I've ended upward at the starting point, which isn't necessary, just you tin see that this time it doesn't fill up in the infinite.
